Short Biography
Environmental chemistry expert at the Department of Life and Environmental Sciences (DISVA) of Marche Polytechnic University (UNIVPM) in Ancona, Italy. Main research interest includes environmental chemistry, pollutant monitoring, and ecotoxicological impacts on aquatic ecosystems, especially using aquatic organisms as bioindicators to assess bioaccumulation, bioavailability and biological effects of trace elements, hydrocarbons, pesticides, endocrine disruptors, flame retardants, pharmaceuticals and other emergent pollutants in marine and freshwater environments. He has extensive expertise in analytical chemistry, delving into techniques that include HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, atomic absorption spectroscopy, UV/Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy, applied to trace contaminants in environmental matrices. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on pollutant dynamics and biological responses to chemical stressors, including studies on inorganic and organic pollutants trends in Mediterranean coastal systems. He is listed among the Top Italian Scientists list in Natural and Environmental Sciences and is a member of the Editorial Boards of several international journals active in fields including environmental sciences and environmental sustainability. He has a significant activity as a scientific reviewer, widely recognized and awarded by several high-profile scientific journals.
